Privacy Policy

Nima ("we," "us") operates nimaapp.com and the Nima Android companion app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Nima is a conversational companion with memory and optional phone features (texts, reminders, device actions with your approval). We do not sell your personal information.

Depending on how you use Nima, we may process:

• Chat messages and conversation history you send in the web app or Android app
• Voice input and transcripts when you use the microphone
• Memory and preference data derived from your conversations (mind state, topics, reminders, guardian lists)
• SMS-related data when you use phone features: message content, recipients, delivery status (via your paired Android device)
• Device pairing identifiers linking your browser session to your phone
• Screen images you explicitly share for screen-helper features
• Push notification subscription data if you enable notifications
• Timezone, conversation language, and similar settings you provide or we infer
• Technical logs: IP address, request timestamps, error logs (standard web hosting)

We use a signed httpOnly session cookie (nima_session) to identify your anonymous session across visits. It does not contain your chat text.

Your browser may store small preferences in localStorage (for example voice mode and notification opt-in). These stay on your device.

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Nima conversation and memory experience
• Execute actions you request on your phone (texts, reminders, approved automation)
• Send reminders and proactive check-ins when you opt in
• Evaluate and improve reply quality when that feature is enabled
• Protect against abuse, rate limits, and service errors

We use third-party services to run Nima. They process data on our behalf under their terms and our instructions:

• Anthropic — AI model inference for conversation and analysis
• Supabase — database persistence (when configured)
• Vercel — application hosting
• OpenAI — optional voice transcription and text-to-speech when enabled

We retain conversation and memory data for as long as your session exists and as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of data associated with your session by contacting us.

Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data.

To exercise these rights, email us at the contact below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

You can disable push notifications in your browser or device settings. Uninstalling the Android app stops phone relay features.

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, signed session cookies, and server-side access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Nima is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

If you access Nima from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
